Around 22,000 people attended the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference 2018 in San Francisco.
Australian broker Paul Kelly has attended the conference for the past five years. Speaking to Health Invest TV in an interview with IR Department's Managing Director, Jane Lowe, Paul gives you a first-hand account of what happens over the week.
"I'm told this is the three or four days of the whole year where most of the deals in biotech are done, and medical device companies," Paul says.
“I think mergers and acquisitions, in particular, in the United States are going to come to the fore, particularly in the biotech and medical device sector. There’s been a pretty good run on stock prices or capitalisation increases over the last three years that I see. Of course this isn’t advice, but an observation also from other people that I talk to. I think M&A is going to be quite important in the next 12 months.”
