HealthInvest June 2026: A Look Inside Australia’s Healthcare Innovations

Blog PostEvent

On Wednesday, 3 June 2026, HealthInvest brought the life sciences and investment communities back together in Sydney. Hosted by IR Department and Morgans, in partnership with Stockhead and AusBiotech Investment, the event served as a dedicated platform for high-level networking, strategic discussion, and an inside look at some of the most interesting companies and opportunities within the ASX life sciences landscape.

Expert Perspectives on the Future of Healthcare

Hosted by IR Department’s Founder and Managing Director, Jane Lowe, and Morgans’ Senior Research Analyst, Scott Power plus Senior Analyst, Derek Jellinek, the event spotlighted five unique organisations. The presentations focused on the strategy and science behind the organisations’ respective visions to solve global health challenges, while creating meaningful returns for investors.

The presenting lineup featured:

Biome Australia (BIO) conveyed growing success and growth with its record, profitable first half and scaled distribution model. As Australia’s largest provider of probiotics to pharmacies, Blair Vega Norfolk highlighted Biome’s plans to move manufacturing in-house to drive margins higher, driving sustainable profit growth.

Dimerix (DXB) outlined the progress of its ongoing ACTION3 Phase 3 clinical trial for the inflammatory kidney disease, FSGS, which is now fully recruited with top line results expected in FY28. Dr Nina Webster also highlighted Dimerix’s four existing licensing agreements, which have generated A$65m in revenue to date, as well as recent factors that significantly lower their barrier to entry to market.

Micro- X (MX1) showcased its advanced imaging technology and portfolio of medical applications, including The Rover (portable x-ray device) and Head CT scanner. Kingsley Hall discussed how the company has successfully sourced grant funding from multiple organisations to advance other applications for the technology, including full body CT scanning and airport self-check in. The next 12 months is likely to see several key milestones achieved.

Racura Oncology (RAC) talked through the recently discovered ‘mechanism of action’ of its lead asset, RC220, which has the capability to silence the MYC protein found in over 70% of all cancers - “the Holy Grail of cancer targets”. Dr Daniel Tillett described how Racura is currently involved in a number of trials across multiple indications, including a Phase 3 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

SomnoMed (SOM) specialises in oral appliances for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), aimed at treating mild-to-moderate cases. Karen Borg explained how Somnomed is the leading provider of these devices across 28 countries, with the main market being the US. The increasing awareness of OSA is feeding into SOM’s growing sales momentum, particularly as SOM moves into profitability.
